"The purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free." - Rollo May
Psychotherapy at Kokoro Mind & Body is an integrated approach that considers the mind/heart/body/soul connection. The body holds on to trauma in various somatic forms (body aches, fatigue, etc); when we release trauma from the mind we can also heal the body.
Somatic Therapy combines traditional talk therapy with other forms of movement therapy. It can help people who suffer from a variety of ailments including stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, grief, relational problems, trauma and abuse. At Kokoro Mind & Body, we use an integrative, holistic approach that combines somatic therapy with other treatment models such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy or Hypnotherapy.
Psychotherapy is provided by Dr. Compitus, a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in integrative therapy. For out of network clients, please contact your insurance company about reimbursement. Teletherapy is available, as well as in-person sessions. Covid protocols are followed and masks must be worn at all times.
